Gaze project
1 EXT. STREET. DAY 1
SHE stands there eyes closed. In the midst of the crowd. As the crowds pass she opens her eyes
SHE
(vo) There'll come a time when I'll look at the world and it will look back at me
She is obscured by the crowd
SHE
(vo) And I won't be there to see it
2 INT. FLAT. DAY 2
The jars of provisions are extremely neat. The magazines are extremely neat. A shopping list, pinned to the neat noticeboard has been printed out and neatly cut so as to waste no excess space
SHE
(vo) I've always been invisible. Had the ability. My mum had me for a limited time only
3 INT. OFFICE. DAY 3
She walks paper under her arm and delicately places them on a colleague's desk. The colleague is talking on the phone and doesn't acknowledge her presence
SHE
And if I shouted she could sometimes hear me
4 INT. LOUNGE. DAY 4
The stereo is playing. We can see the volume has been turned down to zero
(vo)
SHE
But of course she couldn't
(vo)
5 EXT. PARK. DAY TITLE:GAZE
The empty swing gently moves back and forth
SHE
(vo) If you let me creep up on you
6 INT. KITCHEN. DAY The glass of water slowly empties
SHE I can make you disappear too
7 EXT. STREET. DAY She stands in the street, staring at us.
SHE I could just tell you some things. Things you don't want to hear. Things no one should have to hear
A passer-by temporarily obscures her. She now closes her eyes
SHE
(vo) But it can't be your fault
A tear runs down her cheek
SHE
(vo) I am invisible you see. And now I am gone
THE END
Today i met up with my group and we discussed the different criteria of our short film, we have decided to make a trailer for our own film. We then decided on what genres we could focus our trailer on, we came up with two initial ideas. Our first idea was to create a comedy were this girl in the script is actually an invisible super hero. The second idea was to create a thriller/horror/drama, we found this to be a better idea as we started brainstorming ideas for the scenes a lot quicker plus this idea is more suitable with the script, as the original script is dark, depressing and ominous.
We then walked around nottingham and found several locations where we can shoot our scenes. We have found a park, street, office and house to shoot in.
We also discussed influences and what feel we wanted to give our film. The two films that I think could influence our film
are The Ring and The Machinist.
The Ring
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlhZCDlEmh0
This clip of The Ring is very dark/ominous. We can see that there is very low colour resolution and low contrast which makes this clip very effective. Also i like the way this clip uses scene jumps with the fuzzy picture and sound, a simple idea but again very effective.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjtPiYFH9jY
I also like this effect taken from The Ring. This movement could be made by using stop motion photography, we shall look into this style in detail and have a practise to see if we can recreate a similar look. I also thing the music suits this video perfectly.

This is a similar idea but focuses more on the brightness and contrast of the moving image.
The Machinist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0fuHY4U1UA
This is the trailor for The Machinist. I find thats its quite similar to the ring as it uses bold sounds as the scenes cut and also the image is very dark and low colour resolution is used.

Rob Douggan- Clubbed till death
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YCGtT_FRYg
This is the video I got my one shot idea from. about 2 minutes in when hes running past the cars on the moter way. I thought of how they could have filmed it and it came to me quite simply, the cars move slow while he moves past them and then when editing they speed up to make it look like hes running. I liked this technique and hope to use it agin in the future.
Peace.
Group 1 shotty!
Based on a scene from 60's show (which i've never watchd, but i've seen the scene on youtube - Below)
I filmed and I think I did good. The pans were real, I had to move real quick. There is an invisible edit, as it was filmed in one shot, we had to fuse two together because Peyman was a sillyhead and kept laughing! You cant tell tho and I think it looks good.

Stop motion boat.
tp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CkNO513DTc
This is my final piece for stop animation. I am quite happy with the outcome but if i had more time i could have made it longer. the process of stop animation is taking a large series of pictures instead of filming which means you can achieve effects you wouldn't be able to achieve by simply filming.

This is the final piece for my one shot project. I found this was my favourite project out of the three pathways as i'm satisfied with the outcome. To create this technique we filmed in normal time and made leona move very slow then when we got it to premier pro we fast-forwarded it so me, dave and alex moved very fast but leona moved in real time. I would like to further look at this technique in the future.

I like this advert it uses stop motion which is a technique we have been practising this week in animation with andy. I like the way the tempo has also been sped up to give it some pace. All together i think its quite an effective idea of using just the persons hands to express the advert all though this has no specific link to guiness. I might take this idea concept and build on it for my stop motion project.
